Fabio Obando's Ads Feature Intoxicated Superheroes Behind the Wheel

Art Director Fabio Obando and illustrator Miguel Membreño worked together to create three sobering Volkswagen ads featuring superheroes who have all gotten behind the wheel while drunk.

Aptly titled Drunk Superheroes, the ads depict iconic DC and Marvel characters in the horrific aftermath of vehicle collisions. Superman is ejected halfway through his windshield, Wolverine is thrown through his passenger window, and the Hulk is lying dead beneath his car. Each Volkswagen ad is accompanied by the tagline: "Don't let your ego drive you. If you drink don't drive."

With Drunk Superheroes, Fabio Obando and Miguel Membreño take aim at the subset of drunk drivers who, though drunk, feel like they're still capable of driving due to their egos and sense of invincibility.
