The 'Extraordinary Animals in the Womb' Photographs are Adorable

New images from National Geographic's Documentary called 'Extraordinary Animals in the Womb' have been released and these aww-inspiring captures take an in-depth look into the development process of some of the world's animals inside the womb.

These adorable photographs were captured using some of the most advanced technology around; four-dimensional scanners, ultrasound scans, small cameras and computer graphics all were used in documenting these emryonic animal portraits. National Geographic followed the development from conception to birth of dolphins, dogs, elephants, penguins and sharks. This documentary was meant to serve as "testimony to the strong relatedness of all mammals," mainly the unique stories of each animal.

Some amazing facts about some of the embryos are discussed throughout the documentary such as, how the Shark embryo has to eat its own brothers to survive and the Emperor Penguin's extreme battle in the cold elements on the worlds coldest terrains.
