Express Drive's Short-Term Rentals Include Insurance and Warranties

Express Drive is an innovative new short-term rental program, launched by transportation startup Lyft as part of a collaboration with General Motors, that offers enticing incentives to get people to choose the service instead of rival services like Uber.

Customers who use an Express Drive car for less than 40 ride a week pay $99 per week plus 20 cents per mile, while those who use the car between 40 and 64 rides per week don't have to pay a mileage charge, and those who use more than 64 rides a week pay nothing at all.

The service will include full access to GM's OnStar system, which offers a suite of vehicle security, diagnostics, navigation and communication features as well as warranty packages, insurance and maintenance services.

Ultimately, Express Drive is all about making cars more accessible and affordable, paving the way for more convenient rentals going forward.
