Morphing Digital Clocks

The Etch Clock Shows the Digital Time in Relief

The Etch Clock is a design that merges the electronic display of a digital clock with the tangible, physical display of analog. The high-tech timepiece, which can be mounted on a wall or placed in a stand, uses special material and technology to show the digital time like an etching, with the numbers sinking into the clock's surface.

When not displaying the time, the Etch Clock looks like a blank piece of artwork. Once activated, however, it is a captivating way to gather the time. The device's gray elastic membrane gets pulled inwards by 42foundry's (the company behinds the Etch Clock) proprietary technology. This makes the numbers look as though they've been etched into a piece of granite.

The Etch Clock current only comes in the slate color, but more colors are expected to be released in the future.
