Translucent Outdoor Pavilions

This Breezy Pavilion Helps Guests Escape the Heat of the Sun

Seoul studio 'OBBA' recently designed a breezy outdoor pavilion that helps guests escape the heat of the sun. Although many people enjoy spending time outdoors during the summer months, too much time in the sun can be dangerous. This outdoor pavilion provides shade and seating for guests at an outdoor art exhibition.

The 'Oasis' pavilion was designed to help guests escape the heat of the sun during the 'Amorepacific Museum of Art Project' exhibition. The structure itself is surrounded by thin white curtains that allow the breeze to move in and out of the pavilion. The curtains also allows guests to view some of the other exhibits while resting on the comfortable seats inside. From the outside, the curtains hide the support columns to make the building appear as though it is floating. As OBBA founder Sojung Le explains, "It's almost like an oasis in the desert."
