The Louis Vuitton Escale en Alaska is a one-of-a-kind haute horlogerie pocket watch created as part of the Escales Autour du Monde collection. The 50 mm white gold timepiece depicts Alaska's Margerie Glacier through a dial featuring a Jacquemart mechanism with nine animations and 17 moving parts. The handcrafted scene incorporates engraved wildlife, miniature Louis Vuitton trunks, aventurine glass, enamel detailing and the smallest LV Monogram Star-cut diamond produced by the Maison. The manual-winding LFT AU14.03 calibre also combines a tourbillon with a minute repeater.
The movement comprises 751 hand-finished components, while the dial required more than 300 hours of enamelling and 160 hours of hand engraving to complete. The time display is positioned on the caseback to preserve the uninterrupted miniature landscape on the front. The 19 mm-thick case features engraved snowflake and raindrop motifs alongside a bezel set with coloured sapphires, diamonds and tourmalines.
