Brands Expressed Stances on Equal Marriage Rights with Symbol

The Human Rights Campaign has been promoting the image of pink equal sign over a red background to create virtual public awareness for the hearing of the Supreme Court today regarding equal marriage rights.

You may have already noticed many Facebook and Twitter users changing their display photos to this image. An admirable number of brands are also hopping onto the bandwagon and expressing their stance on this hearing through clever symbolism on social media platforms.

Mimicking the banner, Budweiser posted a photo of two can of beer over a red background and Martha Stewart posted a piece of cake that is made to look like the symbol.

The Huffington Post changed it’s icon on social media platforms, Oreo posted a crytic tweet on Twitter while Smirnoff and Absolute supported the cause through symbolism-filled visuals.
