Google has teamed up with Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) to reveal the new "Googleplex" environmentally friendly office buildings in Sunnyvale, California. These two structures will sit side-by-side and feature zigzag pedestrian routes all the way up their inclined roofs.
The two buildings, reaching over a million square feet, will provide office spaces for almost 4,500 Google employees, as well as living spaces. Google has said these buildings will important for "reducing cars on the road by prioritizing biking, shuttles, public transportation and more."
The landscaped exterior is not only visually appealing, but offers environmental sustainability and a low-water landscaping plan. The pedestrian routes allow employees to walk, rollerblade or bike between levels of the building to get around work, as well as to and from home. The "Googleplex" buildings are set to be finished by 2021.
