Abstractly Embroidered Pillows

Tom Dixon Makes Colorfully Tufted and Embroidered Pillow Designs

Tom Dixon released a collection of beautifully tufted, printed and embroidered pillow designs. He mentioned that the inspiration came from "urban perspective sketches and 'hippy' wall hanging from the 1970s." This is clearly represented in the colorful abstract prints and the doodle-like quality of the textile fabrics.

The design methods were executed by highly talented artisans—the thick wool pillows and rugs are made with a hand-tufting technique, originating from Northern India, while the abstract watercolor painting job, depicting urbanism, was commissioned work from young British artist Josephine Ortega. To satisfy the more minimalist customer, Dixon included some monochromatic choices of royal blue, pastel green and beige.

These embroidered pillow designs are perfect for a cozy night in with a cup of tea and a movie, as well as timeless accessories to accent modern furniture.
