The economy has not been kind in the last few years and jobs are far and few between. EMBERS Green Renovations not only provides affordable indoor and outdoor remodelling and contracting solutions for clients, it also solves the issue of unemployment for many individuals.

Founded in 2010, the Vancouver-based social enterprise promotes sustainable building practices and reinvests its profits back into creating more green jobs in the area. The program initially started in collaboration with British Columbia Hydro to create new jobs for people in the province. Aside from upgrading property, EMBERS Green Renovations has a special Weatherization Division that offers modifications to help property owners save on energy costs too. Since its start, the social enterprise has helped owners reduce the cost of their bills by 15-30% as well as reduce greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 1100 tons.
