This Watch Can Detect Electromagnetic Signals in Various Objects

The 'EMSense' watch is high-tech device that can detect the electromagnetic signals in different objects. Although there are a number of electromagnetic objects, the signals that these devices emit are too weak to be picked up by any current devices. Disney wants to make use of these signals by creating technology that can interact with what is already there.

The high-tech smartwatch was developed as part of a collaboration between Disney and Carnegie Mellon University. The watch works by detecting small amounts of electromagnetic signals found in whatever object the user is in contact with. The watch will then measure the signals moving through the human body and respond accordingly. For example, when a user picks up their toothbrush the device will automatically begin a brushing timer.

The smartwatch demonstrates how new devices can make use of existing technology.
