The Electra range has been developed by New York City-based Electra Research as an alternative kitchen appliance to traditional gas and electric stoves. The unit is engineered to plug into existing standard home outlets, which will deliver power to the internal 5kWh battery pack that operates both the oven and the induction burner cooktop. The system is thus capable of operating in the event of a power outage, while also working on a daily basis to only draw power from the grid at off-peak times to save money on utilities.
The Electra range is priced at $3,999 and is being launched now for preorder. The unit is slated to start shipping in February 2026 with shipment costs set at a flat $250 fee.
