Satellite-Inspired Lighting

Daniel Becker Creates the Elaine Series

The Elaine Series is a set of designs done by Daniel Becker, which are inspired by satellites. With their sci-fi look, one can see how he used these objects for a base during the development process.

A variety of metal surfaces have been put in place around the outside of the orb, positioned at different angles to allow the light to shine through. According to DesignBoom, "the exterior shell they create is connected to a hidden, minimal frame of stainless steel profiles, which also serve as conductors for the electricity." As such one is guaranteed to receive a lot of light from a single product in the Elaine Series.

The one drawback may be that these would not go in every living room, but they will certainly be an interesting conversation starter when guests are over. Photo Credits: designboom, danielbecker.eu
