These Eiko Ojala Artworks are Subtly Deceptive

You might look at these quirky landscape portraits by Eiko Ojala and assume they are made of paper, but they're actually made to trick you into thinking that. The paper effects are created by the artist so that they look like they are made from layers of paper. They are in fact painted, with shadowing and depths of field added in to make them appear that way.

The artist creates these subtle effects with some digital manipulation, but impressively doesn't use 3D software. These pieces show the artists insane attention to detail and skill off. Eiko Ojala is an illustrator and graphic designer who is based in Tallinn, Estonia. His work has gained much notoriety recently and has been used in many magazines and books. The up and coming artist has also just been awarded an 'Young Illustrators Award'.
