Historically Inspired Heels

These Edgy Shoes by Breno Cintra Honor Aboriginal Culture

These skyscraper heels have been inspired by a Brazilian Aboriginal Tribe called ‘Yanomani.’ Not only are edgy shoes steeped in heritage, they are also aesthetically pleasing. Designer Breno Cintra says the shoes are specifically influenced by the tribe's daily routines. I'm not sure how many people could actually go about their day to day business in these power wedges, but they sure do look good!

The designer says the shoes: "reflect the characteristics of the Aboriginals temporary architecture, which is traditionally constructed mainly of thatched palm leaves and wood." With their elaborate shape, hollowed-out wedged heel and string suspended all around them, these shoes really are a work of art. The brown tones and natural fibers used all add to the earthy, natural tone of these beautiful and edgy shoes.
