The Edge Bicycle's Rigid Form Suggests That it Would Cut Through the Wind

Bike designers are constantly striving for sleekness in their creations and the Edge Bicycle certainly exudes this quality. Embodying a fineness and a minimalist look, this two-wheeled conveyance appears quite lightweight and sharp enough to slice through oncoming wind.

To make the stiff and geometric shape of the frame, Allan Sejer Madsen, Song Kejie and Lin Yunyuan envisioned its manufacturing with a single piece of steel, bending it into straight creases for a multifaceted form. Rods and tubes were welded to it to connect and stabilize the wheels, the seat and the handlebars of the Edge Bicycle. The concept was developed for the Shanghai World EXPO with Tongji University and the Forever Bicycle Factory.
