Brought to you by the New 2013 Lincoln MKS with Lincoln Drive Control. Now it gets interesting.

Careful readers of TrendHunter.com will know that we recently published two great pieces highlighting some of the latest and greatest innovations in the transportation industry. From massive Marvelous Mobile Mansions to Eco Eccentric Cars from Lincoln, we sought to shed light on the fantastic ideas that succeed at moving the benchmark for human ingenuity forward while simultaneously inspiring us with their uniqueness. You can find these aforementioned articles here, but those who are already up-to-speed will be excited to know that today’s entry in our four-part series will focus exclusively on transportation ideas that live within the realm of the eco-friendly and sustainable.

1. Multifunctional City Cars

Kicking off our eco-friendly roundup is the Urban Cruiser by Michal Kukucka. Powered by electricity and built with efficiency completely in mind, the Urban Cruiser is a direct response to the fact that an increasingly large number of people all over the globe are choosing to live in large, urban centres. The natural result of this growing trend is pollution coupled with excessive traffic -- a fact that makes the idea of these multi-purpose, evo city cars all the more exciting.

2. Seawater-Powered Speedboats

For our second article covered in this snazzy list of eco-savvy ideas, we thought we’d get our feet wet with a look at one seriously cool seaborne craft called the Luxury MIG675. What will definitely grab your attention about this fantastical vessel is the fact that it chugs sea water (or, more accurately, the hydrogen from seawater) to get its power. Indeed it’s the kind of spy-movie innovation that you can be sure even Arnold Swarzenegger would be proud of, although who wouldn’t agree that having a boat powered by water (something you’re most likely going to be around quite a bit of on a boat) isn’t an awesome idea?

3. Devilish Supercar Concepts

Who ever said that environmentally friendly cars couldn’t also tear up the road with their seriously smashing horsepower? Thankfully, for those of you out there who might want an environmentally friendly beast of a racecar in your garage, the Ferrari Millenio is a serious racing machine concept with impressive eco credentials. It’s powered by sunlight and a cleverly concealed charging apparatus. It’s the best of both worlds, and it could just be a gamechanger in the world of eco sportscar design.

4. Eco Off-Road Vehicles

Just in case you like your vehicles a little more rugged and your driving a bit more adventurous, the Electric Race Xtreme Buggy is a tough sucker of an all-terrain vehicle variant that is completely electrical – not too shabby for an automobile meant for some of the most difficult terrain out there. With a range of up to 90 miles, the Electric Race Xtreme Buggy is going to be a toy of choice for die-hard drivers who live on the wilder side.

5. Mid-Market Eco Cars

Our last entry in this gathering of eco-mobiles is perhaps the most mild-mannered of the group, but by far the one that will be the most popular world-wide. This eco sedan packs a surprisingly robust 23 kWh lithium-ion battery that takes just 3-4 hours to charge. Let it never be said again that affordable green vehicles need not be practical.

Check in tomorrow for another entry into our ongoing series. Until then, this is the Trend Hunter team signing off. We’ll see you on the road!
