Eclipse-Inspired Lighting

Vico Magistretti's Eclisse Table Lamp is Delightfully Retro

The Eclisse Table Lamp is inspired by an eclipse. It has a globular shape that not only mimics the shape of the sun and moon, but also mimics the astronomical event of either a lunar or solar eclipse. The outer orange layer contains an inner silver one that revolves slowly around to hide and then expose the bulb held in its center.

Originally conceived by Italian designer Vico Magistretti in 1967, the Eclisse Table Lamp is being produced again by Montreal-based lighting manufacturer Artemide. Its delightfully retro design will capture the hearts of today's nostalgic society.

The Eclisse Table Lamp is made out of metal and works with the incandescent light bulbs that were used back when it was first made.
