Tumorous Fish Tanks

The Echappee Aquarium Provides a Glass Growth as Additional Swimming Space

There are three fairly standard shapes in which fish tanks typically come, and the Echappée Aquarium conforms to none of them. The base of the vessel is a very shallow version of the common rectangular one, yet its most eye-catching feature is the bizarre and rather large outgrowth that emerges from one side.

Sébastien Cordoleani's surrealist design is centered around the brain-shaped bubble that would be made of blown glass to shape an odd, bumpy surface. This would sit lightly inside the tank and be filled with fluid to a much higher level than the pool below. Made possible by a pipe and an air pressure adjustment, the elevated watery world of the Echappée Aquarium would stimulate your scaly friends and spellbind your human ones.
