AR Vacuuming Apps

Dyson CleanTrace Identifies Areas That Have Yet to Be Cleaned

Dyson CleanTrace is launching in June and it uses augmented reality to help people keep tidier homes. Those who own a Dyson Gen5detect vacuum will be able to "make the invisible visible" according to Dyson, and the experience was inspired by robot vacuums. As Charlie Park, Dyson’s vice president of engineering says, "unlike most humans doing the cleaning, Dyson robots know where they are in the room, where they have been, and where they have yet to go."

By attaching a handset to the vacuum cleaner and using the MyDyson app, users can visibly see the exact areas they've already vacuumed in purple. In real-time, they'll also see the areas they have yet to clean.
