DSLR Controller App Lets Android Photogs Take Photos With Their Phones

An app developer by the name of Chainfire is attempting to give the Android the killer app it has been craving with the DSLR Controller app. The DSLR Controller app does exactly what its name suggests: allow you to control your DSLR camera from your Android smartphone.

The app should appease many Android users who have had to watch as numerous photography apps and attachments were designed to be iPhone-only. The DSLR Controller app is currently in its first form and works only with a USB host cable. Despite its limitations, the app is still very impressive; Chainfire can operate his Canon EOS DSLR using only his Samsung Galaxy S2. The first version of the app is out now in the Android marketplace and is priced at $8.51. If you prefer to wait for the product to become more polished, Chainfire is planning to release an update sometime in the future.
