Expedia Uses Livestreaming to Take Sick Kids on 'Dream Adventures'

In partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Expedia set up an inventive new campaign called 'Dream Adventures.'

Sick children confined to hospital beds are deprived of many of the fun experiences that others their age get to partake in. In order to remedy this, Expedia sent explorers out into the world and equipped them with 360-degree livestreaming cameras in order to help children live out their wildest dreams.

In order to make the kids feel as if they were truly immersed in their dream environments, a 360-degree screening room was set up to project underwater scenes, grassy valleys and even archaeology sites. Since there was a live component to the experience, kids got to interact with their guides and truly engage with what they were seeing before their eyes.
