The Drawings In The Middle Of The Magazine series is comprised of simple and silly illustrations from the Glaswegian master of silliness, David Shrigley. Drawn for the latest edition of the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin, the artist follows the footsteps of Jeff Koons, Jenny Holzer and Anselm Kiefer by undertaking such a project.
Accompanied by an interesting an eye-opening studio photoshoot by Ola Rindal and an interview with the Turner Prize nominee, the Drawings In The Middle Of The Magazine series is full of his usual surreal wit. In fact, when asked to be part of the magazine, Shrigley sent over a whopping 80 illustrations that the editors had to whittle down in order to accommodate other articles. From ice cream to museums and robots, the series is very entertaining.
