Stephen Banks Captures Dorset Landmarks Against the Milky Way

Photographer Stephen Banks captures stunning shots of Dorset landmarks set against an unusually vibrant background of the Milky Way.

Known for traveling the country searching for breathtaking shots of the Milky Way, Banks was pleasantly surprised to find his desired shots in his own backyard. The best locations for his photography are very clear nights among very dark Dorset landmarks. The lack of any major cities in the area allows for Banks to take such breathtaking shots of Dorset landmarks framed by the Milky Way. Using a laser torch when necessary, Banks opts for long exposures at a high ISO to capture the incredible detail his shots are known for.

Moving from Liverpool to Dorset in 2011 and working as a marketing director by day, Banks hope that his photography will help boost tourism to the area.
