Collapsible Stackable Stools

The 'Dong Stool' is Designed to Be Stored Easily

The Dong Stool abides by the industrial design ethos of "being more with less." The versatile stool is collapsible and foldable, making it a convenient piece of furniture with a pleasingly simple design that can fit in any household.

The stool is built with three steel legs of equal size and a single piece of circular solid ash. The legs have a powdered finish, allowing them to easily be painted in virtually any color. Further, the legs' equal sizing means that dozens of stools can be stacked on top of each other.

Designed by Manchen Hui, the Dong Stool has received critical acclaim. Inspired by the stools that populate Tai Pai Dong, or open-air markets, in Hong Kong, the stool has been accepted as a permanent piece in the Hong Kong Heritage Museum collection. Further, the stool won the HKDA Global Design Awards 2016.
