Dominos-Emulating Skyscrapers

Jean-Paul Cassia's Design is Inspired by the Classic Dominos Game

Design house Xcassia unveiled its architectural plans for the second tallest skyscraper in Africa, the Zanzibar Domino Commercial Tower.

This unique tower will sit on an artificial island off the west coast of the Zanzibar archipelago. The structure will be an expansive 370,000 square meters with the hope of becoming a popular tourist destination. The design was inspired by the popular Dominos Game and is made of 360 domino-like pieces that rise towards a lookout platform.

The director of Xcassia, Jean-Paul Cassia, has dreamed of designing a tower with this shape as it evokes a special memory of playing dominos with his children and late father. In addition, the design is meant to evoke a sense of freedom, progress, and growth. The all-encompassing master plan features leisure, residential, entertainment, and retail spaces.
