Tesla's 'Dog Mode' Allows Drivers to Safely Leave Pets in the Car

Innovative electric car company Tesla is introducing a new software update with Dog Mode that will make it possible for pets to remain safely inside of a car without their owner present. Ordinarily, it only takes a matter of minutes for a dog's life to be threatened if they are left in a hot car, yet Dog Mode keeps the air conditioning on and assures passersby with a message via the automobile's center screen. On this screen, those outside of the car are able to see that the cabin is being maintained at a comfortable temperature, alongside a comforting message: "My owner will be back soon. Don’t worry!"

To make the most of Dog Mode while running quick errands, Tesla drivers are able to tap a fan icon and make any additional temperature adjustments as needed.
