Tomorrow Machine's Peelable Bottle Design Dissolves In Water

When it comes to portable drinks, brands are introducing more sustainable packaging solutions and Tomorrow Machine's peelable, dissolving bottle is a step ahead of the rest. The design of GoneShells for the CPG sector makes the most of a biodegradable packaging material made from potatoes that takes cues from the way nature protects edible objects. Like a fruit peel, this packaging solutions naturally biodegrades without the need for recycling.

For this project, Tomorrow Machine collaborated with juice company Eckes Granini and its brand Brämhults. After the contents of the beverage bottle have been consumed, the packaging can be composted at home, dissolved in water or even eaten. Peeling the packaging activates the decomposition process, which is why the solution is able to hold liquid without falling apart.
