Artistic Director Chairs

The Xemei Stool by Mediodesign is Made for Modern Movie Sets

As far as director chairs, the Xemei Stool is incredibly modern. Although its purpose may not lie specifically in the movie industry, it would only stand out for its sculptural touches rather than its unusual shape. After all, the design is very similar to director chairs in general with its long legs and short backrest.

Designed by Mediodesign, the Xemei Stool is built out of Finnish plywood, the sides of which are left raw and natural. The rest of the wood is painted either in black or white. Originally created for a twin-run Venetian restaurant in Barcelona called Xemei, which means 'twins' in Venetian dialect, the 'director chairs' is a beautiful example of how art and function can intersect in everyday settings.
