There are countless designs for a dining table for two out there, but none of them are quite like the 'Sati Tala.'
Sati Tala is a project by Tany Jarus that transforms the experience of eating by forcing diners to become highly focused on the present, including the person sitting across from them, the food they are consuming and the furniture pieces that support the entire meal. The system involves two cushioned stools and a tabletop, which is balanced on the knees of the couple seated.
The entire system is made from bent birch plywood that's been finished with a simple light wood beech veneer. When not in use as a dining table, the system also functions as a useful surface for a variety of home decor items. The project will soon be coming to life on Kickstarter.
