Serving as a modern version of Kodak's yellow envelope system, the new digital service converts old media and returns it via a new mail-based service. Currently, the Digitizing Box service accepts VHS, Betamax, VHS-C, 8mm and 16mm film, prints, negatives, slide and even audio from cassettes and reel-to-reel.
The current processing time for Digitizing Box is about five to six weeks and will eventually present owners with a DVDs, a USB drive or digital downloads of their files. The box filled with the original items is meticulously tracked on its way to Kodak at every step of the process with 12 email updates provided.
