The benefit of cloud storage is that local hard drives no longer matter much for storage space. The 16 gigabytes on Bush's digital TV recorder serve as a local cache more than permanent storage, as programs record to the device's local storage but are moved into the cloud as fast as consumers' internet signals can handle it.
