Cloud-Synced TV Recorders

Bush's Digital TV Recorder Stores Shows in ShowDrive for Remote Viewing

The new digital TV recorder from Bush, a UK-based company, will allow consumers to store their recorded shows using cloud services -- the first recorder to do so in the UK. The digital TV recorder is relatively inexpensive when compared to other boxes due to the fact that it has only 16 gigabytes of internal storage. But with a subscription to 'ShowDrive,' a cloud storage company for TV shows, those 16 gigs will be irrelevant.

The benefit of cloud storage is that local hard drives no longer matter much for storage space. The 16 gigabytes on Bush's digital TV recorder serve as a local cache more than permanent storage, as programs record to the device's local storage but are moved into the cloud as fast as consumers' internet signals can handle it.
