Taras Yoom Designs the Dif Lamp with Physiological Themes

Bangkok-based designer Taras Yoom designs the Dif Lamp, which is inspired by his medical profession and human physiology. The lamp has a foundation of purple tubes that is a direct nod to vascular systems and it holds up light pink orbs that are meant to resemble blood cells. Earlier in the designer's medical career, he worked in a lab and architectural firm and the lines started to blur over time.

Yoom explains that "The Dif Lamp provides physical protection to the inhabitants during the night and moreover, serves as [a] significant guide and support. That is the light, which illuminates the darkness and allows us to defend against irrational fears, which all of us encounter."
