This Camera Concept Pays Homage to Classic Dieter Rams Design

This digital camera concept embodies Dieter Rams' design aesthetic and philosophy. South Korean designer Kim Seongjin created this concept to pay homage to the iconic designer.

As the title of Rams' book expresses, he was a fan of 'As Little Design as Possible.' Although the camera only appears to have three buttons that can be interacted with, the emphasis is not solely on performance. Seongjin's concept stays true to this, adopting a minimalist form and simple black and white coloring.

The shapes of the buttons and the body of the camera all play with very basic geometric forms. From the back, the camera almost resembles an iPhone's touchscreen. However, Seongjin's design sources inspiration from a much earlier era, merging modern camera technology with vintage styles.
