Colorful Geometric Metro Stations

'Diamonds and Circles' is a New Design for Tottenham Court Road

Officials recently unveiled 'Diamonds and Circles,' the final permanent design for Tottenham Court Road metro station in the London Underground. The design features bright primary colors in simple geometric shapes placed in front of a striped black and white background.

Diamonds and Circles was designed by Daniel Buren, a French artist. The installation of the design has been in progress for some time now, as Tottenham Court Road is a busy downtown tube station that the London Underground can't afford to close for a significant period of time. As such, the designs have been visible for some time, but the final sculptural aspect has finally been revealed.

That sculpture consists of a 2.5 meter tall diamond and circle placed behind protective glass.
