Dexamenes Seaside Hotel is a luxury resort on the Ionian Sea in Greece’s Peloponnese region that repurposes a historic wine processing facility through adaptive reuse. Originally built to support the area’s early 20th-century wine industry, the complex remained largely unused after the 1920s before being transformed into a hospitality destination. Opened in 2019, the project was led by Athens-based K-Studio, which preserved much of the existing industrial architecture while introducing contemporary accommodations. Large wine tanks and concrete structures remain central to the design, providing a direct connection to the site’s history and original function.
The renovation used a light-touch approach that retained weathered concrete surfaces and reused removed wall sections elsewhere in the project. Recent additions include eight Seaview Terrace Suites positioned above the former tanks, each featuring large verandas shaded by wooden pergola-like canopies. The hotel also introduced dex.Silo.01, a culinary venue housed within a converted tank silo.
