Daniel Stolle’s Images Attempt to Bring Depression Awareness

This depression awareness image series by Daniel Stolle attempts to show four different reasons for sadness. They do so without saying a word and instead leave the interpretations to the viewer.

The different aspects from the set of four depression awareness sketches include lethargy, pace of living, isolation and environmental influences. Some of the images are easy to decipher, while others may take some time to figure it out.

I especially enjoy the image of the man who is tied down and sitting beside him are a colorful pair of scissors which contrast greatly from the dark setting. This would suggest that sometimes, the answer is right there boldly in front of us and all we need is the drive to make that change.
