Australia-based design firm Room11 created the new D'entrecasteaux house, located on the Apollo Bay in Tasmania.
The home was designed to combat the rough climate of the surrounding area, with a large hand-made stone wall making up the exterior. The outer shell blends into the landscape, offering a modern design that also offers protection from strong coastal winds. Inside there is a landscaped courtyard for outdoor living, with a deck that connects to the main living area.
The interior is finished with planks of dark black timber, adding contrast to the mass amounts of natural light that floods in from the large windows. The D'entrecasteaux house by Room11 features views of the seaside scenery from the Apollo Bay in each room of the home.
