Organic Candle Holders

SLAG by David Taylor is Made from Beautiful Waste Products

David Taylor, an industrial designer based in Falkirk, Scotland, has launched SLAG, a collection of candle holders made out of the material it is named after. Those who are unfamiliar with the term slag will be interested to know that it refers to waste product found in the forest surrounding the now-closed iron foundry of Hälleförsnäs. By making use of such abandoned material, David Taylor pays homage to history as well.

To make the candle holders fit into contemporary settings with ease, David Taylor incorporates brushed aluminum and polished brass for a cleaner finish. The result are designs that are as elegant as they are organic with tons of bright blue-green color to liven up any space, be it in the home or at the office.
