Hand-Painted Astronaut Dolls

Billionaire Boys Club Japan Welcomes 2019 with Daruma Dolls

In Japanese culture, 'Daruma dolls' are a symbolic piece indicating good fortune and good luck, as it resembles the look of Bodhidarma, a Buddhist monk. This is the same monk that created that entire 'Zen' sector of the religion, as it still remains prominently celebrated today. Streetwear imprint Billionaire Boys Club Japan creates their own iteration of the Daruma dolls and switches out Bodhidarma for personalities representative of the label.

At the front of the two available dolls is the imprint's signature astronaut emblem. The dolls are hand-painted in Takasaki and also boast the text "WEALTH IS OF THE HEART AND MIND. NOT THE POCKET." The Daruma dolls are now available for purchase online and in-store at Billionaire Boys Club Japan.
