This beautiful and futuristic-looking building is the Dalian Library, a contemporary structure located in Dalian, China, that was designed to mimic the shape of a rose petal.
The Dalian Library was designed by Andreas Frauscher, Patrick Herold, Richard Klinger, Martin Schorn, Kurt Sattler and Fei Tang of Architects Collective. Set in the middle of a park with a wide glass center for the roof, this elegant structure provides a place where the public can read, contemplate and come together, says the designers. The Dalian Library shown here is the Pulian branch, and there will be several other library branches made, with each one symbolizing a petal to form a complete rose. This is because the 'Monthly Rose' is the city flower of Dalian.
