These Repurposed Electronic Knick Knacks are Oddly Charming

This fresh poster campaign created by 3D artist and illustrator Chris LaBrooy in association with Zeitguised, an innovative design company, uses electronics in an unconventional way. Zeitguised has gained notoriety for its art which blends complex geometries, surrealism, artificiality and recycling of digital readymades into a distinct hallucinatory style.

In this collection of posters titled 'Darty,' Chris LaBrooy re-creates various electronic possessions through collage into literal cyborg faces. By repurposing camera lenses, iPod click wheels, input jacks, Easy-Bake ovens, and vacuums, LaBrooy successfully gives each sculpture a persona. These personalities range from the hipster sporting the pompadour to the young girl with an attitude. This collection of abstract electrical appliances has been compared artistically to the likes of Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo. David LaBrooy’s artistic talents are not limited to these creations -- check out his other stellar work here.
