SiriusXM will give subscribers the ability to create custom music stations using Pandora, which SiriusXM purchased approximately six months ago. Adding features form the Pandora app has been in development for some time, and will now be a service available to premier users of SiriusXM.
Users are able to create stations utilizing the SiriusXM mobile app. Users can select songs or artists to add to the station. Following this, the station will be able to learn a user's music tastes and be able to play songs in which users can vote up or down.
The new custom music stations will take on a number of Pandora's capabilities. The stations will implement the Music Genome Procet categorization system, which was developed by Pandora, this will be combined with SiriusXM's music collection.
