Curated Stitched Photography

Robert Mann Gallery's The Embroidered Image is a Surreal Exhibit

The Embroidered Image is a curated stitched photography exhibit that showcases 11 artists. Exploring their different approaches to this popular art form, the images are all very evocative and surreal. While some focus on movement and others on nostalgic moments, others simple enhance images to give them stronger context. For instance, a woman holding an umbrella is surrounded by directional blue thread that represents a big downpour.

The curated stitched photography exhibit is being held at the Robert Mann Gallery in New York City. Running until the end of the summer, it features artists Jessica Wohl, Diane Meyer, Flore Gardner, Jose Romussi and Melissa Zexter. David Behringer of Design Milk came away with two things, one of which was, "It’s never what you use that makes you unique (or what makes it "art")...it’s how you use it."
