Crafting Plastics' New Wall Divider is Made Using 3D Printed Bioplastic

Crafting Plastics and firm Office MMK have collaborated to create a scented room divider made from bioplastic. This unique wall divider is 3D-printed from Crafting Plastics' Nuatan bioplastic. This organically shaped room divider is scented with a sweet fragrance of bread and caramel produced by heating cornstarch and sugar.

Founder of Crafting Plastics Vlasta Kubušová explains that the firms wanted "to bring a new identity to bioplastics, since normally you perceive these materials through their visuality and structure, not through their smell." The wall divider comprises abstract, flower-like bioplastic pieces that dangle from the ceiling like a sculptural installation.

The design is currently on display at Salone del Mobile as a part of The Makers Show.
