Idle Computer Rentals

CPUsage Pays to Use Your PC's Unused Processing Power

CPUsage is a new startup that pays to rent your computer's processing power. The company aims to harness the power of tons of ordinary desktops and laptops to provide a cheaper alternative to companies who would otherwise have to process their data using expensive supercomputers.

CPUsage is simple and easy to use. Users need only to signup for CPUsage's service and then download and install their software. Processing assignments are sent to your computer when you are away and suspended when you return. CPUsage users are rewarded with points that can exchanged for such rewards as Xbox Live and restaurant gift cards.

CPUsage is currently undergoing beta testing and is accepting applicants. If you would like to learn more about CPUsage, watch the above video interview with the company's CEO and cofounder Jeff Martens.
