'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' Will Now Feature a Battle Royale

The 'Counter-Strike' franchise, and its latest iteration 'Counter-Strike: Global Offensive' has been a stalwart esports shooter for some time, but the iconic series is hoping to reinvent itself by introducing a new battle royale mode. Known as Danger Zone, this new battle royale is quite fast-paced and pits eighteen players against one another. Unlike traditional battle royale maps, Danger Zone's is much meaner and closer, playing into Counter-Strike's frantic pace.

In addition to launching Danger Zone, Counter-Stike: Global Offensive will also move to a new free-to-play model. This marks the first free title in the Counter-Strike franchise and is sure to grow the game's already massive player-base. Since the game has been out for over six years, all players that purchased the title will receive Prime status.
