The Mamou-Mani x COS Installation is Interdisciplinary

This year's COS installation was done in collaboration with creative studio Mamou-Mani. Debuted at Salone del Mobile for Milan Design Week, the sculpture brings together a number of different influences from "the worlds of nature, architecture, and technology."

The Mamou-Mani x COS installation features 700 interlocking modular bio-bricks with three different shades. It is constructed inside the Palazzo Isimbardi. While the translucent building blocks boast pure polylactic acid (PLA), the collaborators added wood pulp to some turning them brown, as well as a pigment that turned others white. The gradient surely adds an aesthetically intriguing component to the work.

The idea behind the interlocking sculpture is to bridge the worlds of nature and technology through architecture. Dubbed 'Conifera,' the COS installation proved to be mesmerizing and somewhat majestic.
