Exclusive WWI Wines

Cos d'Estournel's COS100 is Produced With Grape Vines Planted in 1915

Cos d'Estournel's COS100, is a limited edition wine that celebrates the hundredth anniversary of the grape plot Parcelle des Femmes. The grapes used to make this exclusive wine come from a unique parcel of land that grew grapes planted entirely by women over 100 years ago. The grapes were first planted by women in 1915 as the men that traditionally worked the field were all drafted to WWI. COS100 was produced and released with intention of honoring the women that worked the fields and kept the Cs d'Estournel estate open during the wartime. The grapes used in this unique product come from the original vines planted in 1915.

COS100 is an incredibly exclusive product with only 110 bottles being produced -- 10 Balthazars and 100 double magnums -- which will only be available through private sales. There are two exceptions though as two bottles will be auctioned off by Sotheby's in New York and Hong Kong, in both cases the proceeds will be donated to the non-profit organization Elephant Family. Cos d'Estournel's COS100 is a truly unique product that combines a significant past and a hopeful future.
