'Sculpted by the Sun' Proposes Packaging Wine Entirely in Cork

The conventional cork wine bottle component only makes up a small portion of most packaging designs but Anthem Worldwide's Sculpted by the Sun asks: "Do we need to bottle wine in glass?" The creative agency is working on a variety of concept designs for the future that have a low impact on the environment. According to senior designer Fernando Ruiz Ibanez, "Our vision was to design a more sustainable range of organic wines—a concept inspired by nature in all its simplicity; sunshine, grape and cork."

The all-cork wine bottles make the most of a sustainable material that rapidly regenerates and is entirely compostable. Naturally, the concept features cork toppers, but also entire vessels that would be mixed with a natural binding agent to increase its strength and prevent the liquid inside from being absorbed by the porous material.
